The Best Restaurants in the Heritage District
Irving was built in 1903 on a tract of land that was no bigger than eighty-acres.
Over time, the town grew, and to preserve its heritage, city leaders named part of downtown the Heritage District.
It's where many locals come to enjoy a meal, and the area is recognized as one of the best neighborhoods by the Dallas Morning News.
The district is a quick drive from our Las Colinas apartments, and eateries include:
Big State Fountain Grill
Serving Irving since 1948, the Big State Fountain Grill opened as a haberdashery in the early 1900s. With chrome-accented tables, a jukebox, and a colorful checkered floor, it transports everyone to a time gone by. Visitors enjoy the retro setting, and always receive friendly, attentive service. Dinner offerings include Blues Brothers burgers, chili cheese dogs, and Ma's famous fried bologna sandwiches. Don't forget to try Big State's renowned milkshakes.
At Villa's Grill, guests enjoy a culinary journey through Brazil. Its founder is a Brazilian native who wanted to share his country's cuisine with North Texas. The restaurant is perfect for date night and features dim lighting, colorful works of art, and tables covered with white cloths. Menu items include garlic picanha, Parmesan pork, and bacon-wrapped filet mignon.
Family owned and operated, Di Rosani's was proud to receive Yelp's top restaurant award in 2016. The chefs prepare authentic Italian cuisine using the finest, freshest ingredients. The waitstaff delivers the meals with a smile, and they enjoy chatting with those they serve. The eatery is a fun place to meet friends, and guests can spend their evening inside or on the cozy patio. The sizeable menu includes Margherita pizza, meat lasagna, and baked ziti.
