The Best Barbecue Joints Around Las Colinas
Did you know that barbeque in the United States varies by region? The four main styles are named for their place of origin: Texas, North Carolina, Memphis, and Kansas City. East Texas is famous for its pulled pork, while the western part of the state is known for its mesquite-grilled, cowboy-style brisket. If you would like to enjoy some mouthwatering barbecue, the best restaurants around our Lake Carolyn apartments include:
Dylan's Barbecue Saloon
Dylan's Barbecue Saloon began just before Thanksgiving 2014. It was built by good friends who took out personal loans and did plenty of scribbling on bar napkins. The restaurant features a rustic setting with red walls, wagon wheel chandeliers, and a gold safe used as a coffee table. The pitmasters start their day early as everything on the menu is made fresh. Offerings include brisket, smoked chicken, and St. Louis ribs.
Smokey John's Bar-B-Que
A local favorite since 1976, Smokey John's fills the intersection of Lemmon and Mockingbird with the alluring aroma of burning hickory. Founder John Reaves established the restaurant with his wife and cousin. Today, it's run by his two sons who enjoy serving good food with a smile. They have dozens of loyal customers, and also enjoy giving back to the community. The menu includes ribs, half chicken, and hot links.
Hard Eight BBQ
At Hard Eight, diners enjoy Texas-style barbecue served straight from the pit. The restaurant is known for its fun atmosphere and good 'ole southern hospitality. It's family-owned and operated, and is a place where memories are made. Meats include brisket, jalapeno sausage, and pork ribs. For dessert, don't miss the whiskey buttermilk pie.
