Spring Events in 2020 Near Las Colinas
One of the wonderful things about living in Las Colinas is it's proximity to many events and festivals happening near your apartments in Las Colinas. Spring is the time of year when these activities are really coming to life similar to the season. Here are some of the best, fan-favorite, fun, and fantastic events to experience in the area.
Party on the Plaza - Tree Marie
What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than to rock out and unwind at the Party on the Plaza - Tree Marie celebration. On Saturday, March 21st, entry to the Texas Lottery Plaza at Toyota Music Factory begins at 8:00 p.m. at 311 W. Las Colinas Blvd. Attendees will enjoy local live bands performing and DJs spinning the night away.
Although attendance is free to the public, people are encouraged to RSVP online, This registration will enter them for a chance to win upgrades to VIP status, gift certificates, and more potential prizes. See you at the next Party on the Plaza!
Irving 1-Mile Fun Run, 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathons
Whether you'll be running, watching, cheering on a friend or family member, the Irving Marathon offers a series of foot races held annually. All of these races will be held on Saturday, March 28th beginning at 5:30 a.m. when parking opens. The schedule continues with:
- The singing of our National Anthem, welcoming announcements, and warm-ups commencing at 6:30 a.m.
- 7:00 a.m. is the start of the 1-mile fun run
- The full and half-marathons both begin at 7:30 a.m. with 11:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. estimated times of award ceremonies respectively
- At 8:00 a.m. the 5K and 10K races start with estimated award ceremonies at 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. respectively
- Courses will officially close at 2:00 p.m.
The DFW Fiber Fest 2020
Crafters will delight at the 15th annual DFW Fiber Fest to be held at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas from April 2nd through the 5th. Founded in 2005, the goal of the festival is to support the knitting, crochet, and spinning crafters whose community was said to be underserved in the past. Fiber enthusiasts of all skill levels are encouraged to attend, from beginners to masters in this unique arts and craft activity.
There will be more than twenty instructors teaching newcomers how to knit, crochet, and spin these fibers into a number of useful garments, blankets, and other items. For those who enjoy this activity regularly, there will be plenty of vendors showcasing their wares and offering visitors colorful, new, and unique products to this crowd.
